Happy Belated New Year!

Dior Couture, 1950's Glam, group project .

I have been working on another porcelain doll themed room box.
This is a fun project supported by MDL, Kitz, Kathie Mendenhall, IGMA of La Petite Belle patterns, Dragonfly International and Dana Burton. I don't want to share too much as there is a contest, so this will be a little preview.
The theme revolves around Candy, the doll created by Dana Burton. Members don't have to use her kit, and can make a doll of their own. I bought a kit, but plan to change something....I haven't decide on what aspect as Candy is still in kit form.

Here is the finished doll that Dana Burton created.
The little dog is named Coco and was made by JIL

I know some people are curious as to what comes in one of Dana's kits. Once you purchase the kit, you get a link to a PDF containing the assembly directions. The kit is mailed and the contents contain everything you need to make the doll except a doll stand.

Here is a picture of my kit contents.

Her pink tulle, ribbon, hair and any other notins are generally included except a needle and thread.
To go along with the project, Kathie Mendenhall designed a closet for a potential lavish dressing room. The items were then made by Deb Jones at Kitz.
The closet unit and other items are suggestions to get our creative juice flowing.

This is a preview of what my theme may look like.....I  want it to feel like it comes from the 1950's.

My daughter had made a House Of Miniatures Chippendale side board and painted it white. She decided not to use it. I thought it might be fun to zhoosh it up and use it in the room.
I painted it pink and add gold leafing detail

I found this fabric months ago and bought it because it called my name. Now, it is a main feature in my room box. I love serendipity......or Godincidences or fate. I covered the table in Mod Podge and covered the back with the fabric.
It still needed something more, so here is the zhooshing......a pink tulle skirt!

And the final result from the front.....still needs some paint touch up. Gold leaf pens splatter like crazy, and the pink paint is latex (bad choice on my part) named Devine Pirouette. It was an impulse grab from Target...months ago....another coincidence (maybe it was meant to be)?

Voila!

May your New Year be filled with many happy accidents
